OLVEA joins the Action for Shea Parkland, initiated by the Global Shea Alliance!
Today is Shea Day! ✨
OLVEA has been a member of the Global Shea Alliance (GSA) since 2015 and has recently joined its Executive Committee.
For the very first “Shea Day”, OLVEA has therefore naturally joined the Action for Shea Parklands initiative, which aims to promote and protect shea resources while empowering women collectors. 🌱
As part of this sustainable development programme, the GSA has set the ambitious goal of planting 10 million trees in Shea over the next 10 years. To reach this objective, industry stakeholders across the globe have been mobilized to collectively act now and preserve Shea parklands.
During one week, thanks to our colleagues in Burkina Faso and our partner farmers’ organizations, OLVEA will be planting and taking care of a thousand trees in protected areas! 🌳
